When we head to Walt Disney World, whether it’s window shopping or full-on dining, there’s always talk among my family as to their favorite snack in the theme parks. Narrowing down a top spot is always impossible, so we thought about a top 5. Still, impossible. So, after much discussion and deliberation, we were finally able to come up with a list of the 10 tastiest snacks at Disney World. Some are no brainers and some may just surprise you. Want to know why it took us so long to get them straight? Read on!
10. Disney Churros
Crispy, crunchy, yummy, tasty goodness all rolled into a textured straw shape. These little beauties can be found in Frontierland in Magic Kingdom. Have a hankering for that cinnamon-y scent when you hop in your car? The parks now sell churro air fresheners! If you’d like to try bite-sized churros, head to Pecos Bill’s at Frontierland in Magic Kingdom.
9. Grey Stuff Cupcake
If you were lucky enough to get into Be Our Guest Restaurant in Magic Kingdom when it first opened, you could ask to try the Grey Stuff and this cute little plate of vanilla panna cotta would come to your table. Ever popular, the restaurant started selling The Master’s Cupcake- a moist, chocolate cupcake with cookies and cream panna cotta in place of the frosting. Let me tell you: I did try the grey stuff- it’s delicious!
8. Frushi
Available during Epcot’s Flower and Garden Festival, frushi is found in the Japan Pavilion’s kiosk in World Showcase. Perfect for folks like I am that may not dig traditional sushi, the snack creation offers fresh fruit and rice wrapped in soy wrappers instead of nori. Toasted coconut is sprinkled on top and a side of whipped cream is the perfect accompaniment.
7. Turkey Leg
If you’ve been to Magic Kingdom, you’ve undoubtedly seen a visitor or two with a giant turkey leg in their hands. Technically a snack, the turkey leg is snack enough for an entire family. Once found in Frontierland and Liberty Square, the mammoths can now be found in Tomorrowland at the Cool Ship location.
6. Mickey Pretzel
Just a glance at these cuties and a smile is sure to come to the face of any one- not to mention that delicious scent! Tomorrowland in Magic Kingdom is the place to head for one of these treats.
5. Rice Crispie Treats
Disney rice crispie treats are best eaten when fresh, but they are a fun treat to take back home as well. Offered in every Disney park, and whether plain or dipped in chocolate, the consistent quality and creamy vanilla flavor is a family favorite.
4. Candy Apples
Ahh, Walt Disney World candy apples. Some are coated in dark chocolate, some in white. Whatever way you choose, the apples are always crisp and the flavor- perfection on a stick.
3. Popcorn
It seems like every park corner you turn the scent of freshly- made popcorn is beckoning us. No worries, though, we love buying souvenir buckets filled with the buttery, crunchy snack. Holiday parties at Magic Kingdom are a great time to pick one up as there’s always a special edition!
2. Mickey Premium Ice Cream
Rich chocolate and a cold, vanilla center puts the Mickey Premium Ice Cream on the top of The Kid’s list. Who can resist biting an ear or two?
1. Dole Whip
If you’ve ever read my blog before, you know that Dole Whip tops the list. In a cup by itself or with pineapple juice, the Dole Whip is the treat that visitors to Walt Disney World just can’t get enough of! The snack is gluten free and is always a snack credit on the Disney Dining Plan-score for budgeting families!
So, there’s my family’s top 10 list of tastiest snacks at Walt Disney World. Did we leave your favorites out? Please let me know in the comment section below!
