If you watch YouTube natural eye makeup tutorials as much as I do, you’ll know that almost every one uses a neutral eyeshadow palette to complete the look. Watch enough of them and you’ll know that everyone is in love with the Urban Decay Naked Palettes, myself included. But, my makeup-loving friends, there are other choices. Crazy, I know, but I’m loving these 5 affordable neutral eyeshadow palettes just as much as the Naked ones. Here’s my top picks compliments or pigment, consistency, application, and cost.
Revolution Makeup Redemption Eyeshadow Palette Iconic 3
Where to Buy: Ulta
Price: $7
If I’m in a hurry, it’s the Revolution Makeup Redemption Eyeshadow Palette Iconic 3 that I’ll grab to use. Yes, it’s VERY similar to the Naked 3 palette, and yes, I own it as well, but I really like the fast that each of the 12 eyeshadows are super pigmented and apply very easily. It’s shades are in a rose gold theme which I love ans the shades will flatter any eye shade. Bonus: The palette is only $7 so I don’t have to worry if it gets broken when traveling.
BH Cosmetics Carli Bybel
Where to Buy: Ulta
Price: $10
I’m a giant fan of Carli Bybel’s YouTube channel so, without even testing her original palette in-store, I went ahead and bought it. The palette offers 10 eyeshadows (five matte, five shimmer) and four highlighters that can be used for the inner eye corners and as blush toppers. If we’re talking packaging, it’s not overly-large and is slim enough to throw in a makeup bag.
Wet N Wild Au Naturel in 754A Nude Awakening
Remember a few years ago when the wet n wild brand of eyeshadows were not so good? Happily, the brand revamped most of its line and now many of the eyeshadow palettes are just amazing. The Wet N Wild Au Naturel in 754A Nude Awakening palette (five matte, five shimmer) is super affordable, the eyeshadow pigments are really pigmented, and the consistency and blendability is really good. Colors are mostly cool, rose gold neutrals.
Where to Buy: Walgreens, Wal Mart, Rite Aid
Price: From $7
Revolution Makeup Redemption Palette Iconic Elements
LOVE this palette! 11 of the 12 shades are matte (the other is a light shimmer) and it’s mainly warmer tones. Each pan size is decent so you won’t run out in a flash, either. Pigment? Great. Blendability? Really good. Cost? I’m not really sure how the brand can sell a palette of this caliber for only $7, but I’m not complaining.

BH Cosmetics Nude Rose
Another nude rose palette, don’t let the lack of deep tones sway you from purchasing. The pigment is really good and I find each to have a buttery consistency with easy application. Of the 12 shadows there’s only one matte (shade 5) and the rest are satins and light shimmers. There’s a but of fall out with this one so use some powder under your eye and sweep it away if you like to put on your foundation first. Of the five palettes in this post, the BH Cosmetics Nude Rose offers the best brush. Translation? It’s not the greatest but will do in a pinch.
Where to Buy: Ulta, Target, Jet.com
Price: $8.70 and up
