Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, can be a wonderful place to spend some time with the one you love. With so much to see and do, there can be something to fit every couple’s tastes. From thrilling mountain coasters to leisurely museums, here are nine ideas on what to do for date night in Pigeon Forge.
1. Explore The Island in Pigeon Forge
The Island in Pigeon Forge offers many different ways to have a fun date night. It is filled with shops if you want to do a shopping date. If you are more interested in rides, there’s a decent handful at The Island, including The Great Smoky Mountain Wheel. This giant Ferris wheel with climate control cars offers beautiful views of the surrounding area, both day and night.
Sky Fly: Soar America is an attraction similar to Soarin’ in the Disney Parks. With a 50-foot spherical theater, you’ll feel like you are truly flying throughout the United States. Of course, there’s also the large fountain in the center of The Island. The fountain does a show synced with popular music and lights every 30 minutes on the hour and half hour. Although it goes all day, I would definitely recommend watching it at night for the full effect. And be sure to grab a couple of the surrounding rocking chairs to sit in while you watch!
2. Try A Go-Kart Arcade Date
If arcades are more up your street, then you’re in luck! Pigeon Forge is full of all kinds of fun-filled arcades, several of which have go-kart tracks to race in. My favorites include Arcade City in The Island, Big Top Arcade, and Rockin’ Raceway Arcade. Both Big Top Arcade and Rockin’ Raceway Arcade have fun outdoor go-kart tracks, and all three have fun games that you can play for tickets, prizes, and fun.
3. Visit the Many Pigeon Forge Museums
Pigeon Forge has a museum for almost everyone. If you and your date are fans of true crime, take them to Alcatraz East Crime Museum. With 25,000 square feet filled to the brim with exhibits on all things crime, you’re bound to find something to pique your interest. You may even see a relic or two from your favorite case!
If celebrities, both past and present, are more your thing, then you have to visit the Hollywood Wax Museum. Each figure looks very accurate to its real counterpart, and the museum is filled with fun props so you can take photos with your favorite star all dressed up. My personal favorites would have to be Frank Sinatra and the area dedicated to horror!
For a fun way to interact with a whole museum, try Beyond the Lens. It has over 150 interactive exhibits, including photo spots, VR rides, a Big Foot hunt, and escape rooms! If you’re bored here, I don’t know what to tell you.
Looking for a more history-based museum date? Look no further than The Titanic Museum. With artifacts ranging from first-class china to actual pieces of the famous grand staircase, a visit to this museum is a Titanic fan’s dream come true. I should know; I am such a fan! You can even engage in a couple of competitions to see who can tolerate the 28°F water the longest.
4. Enjoy a Trip to Dollywood
I don’t think Pigeon Forge would be where it is today without the wonderful Miss Dolly Parton. Her park, Dollywood, allowed the area to flourish in the way it has. With that in mind, I happily recommend taking a trip to Dollywood for a date. With so many rides, shows, food, and attractions, a date to the park could last all day, not just a night!
5. See the Pirates Voyage Dinner & Show
Instead of dinner and a movie, why not try a dinner show? The Pirate Voyage is an excellent option for those who love acrobatics, stunts, and adventure. The four-course meal has you right next to the action as you dine and support either the Crimson or Sapphire crew.
6. Enjoy Dinner at Dolly Parton’s Stampede
Another fantastic dinner show, Stampede, has been titled “The World’s Most Visited Dinner Show Attraction!” Displaying a variety of equestrian talent throughout its four courses, the show will both surprise you with the riders’ skill and make you laugh with Skeeter and Nugget’s ongoing act throughout the show. And depending on when you go, you might see the holiday version of the dinner show, complete with an opening act portraying what Dolly’s Christmases were like growing up!
7. Go for an Ax Throwing Pizza Date at Country Roads Axe Co. Featuring West by God Coalfired Pizza
If you’re looking for some light-hearted competitive spirit on your next date, I’d give Country Roads Axe Co. a try. Not only is West by God’s pizza delicious, but the ax throwing is fun, too! The targets are projected onto the wooden wall, allowing you to play in different ways. Want to try ax tic-tac-toe? You can do that! Want to have zombies be your target? Done! Want to just use regular targets? You’ve got it!
8. Take a Mountain Coaster Adventure
With its amazing views of the Smoky Mountains, it’s no wonder why Pigeon Forge has so many mountain coasters. Rocky Top Mountain Coaster and Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster would be my top recommendations out of the several available. Both are incredibly smooth, have stunning views, and give you the option to sit together in one car.
9. Go Indoor Snow Tubing at Pigeon Forge Snow
When visiting Pigeon Forge Snow, you’ll never have to worry about missing a snow day with your loved one. The indoor snow park has wintery fun year-round! You can race down the snow tubing hills or just spend some time making snow people and forts. And you want to know the best part? The building is always between 60 and 70 degrees, so you don’t need to get all bundled up if you don’t want to!
