If you think that 2020 has cancelled Christmas at Walt Disney World, happily that’s a big nope. Sure, things will be changing, but there will still be ways to celebrate the happiest of holidays. Here’s what you can expect for Christmas at Disney World 2020 to help you plan.

When Is Christmas at Disney World for 2020?
For 2020, we’ll be able to celebrate Christmas at Disney World from November 6 – December 30. If you’ve been following along with the Christmas events in the parks for the past few years, you’ll know that it’s a bit shorter than normal. Truly, we’ve celebrated Halloween at Magic Kingdom on October 31st and hit the park on November 1st to find Christmas decorations.
This year for Christmas, all four WDW theme parks will celebrate the winter holidays for the same dates, too.
We know how much our guests love the holidays, so from Nov. 6-Dec. 30, they will be able to enjoy festive décor, themed merchandise, seasonal food& beverage offerings and entertainment all across Walt Disney World Resort. Holiday magic will be in full force at the four theme parks and Disney Springs, and Santa Claus will make time for special pop-up appearances at each location, waving and exclaiming holiday wishes to all.
Will There Be Christmas Parades this Year?
Not like what we’re used to. Instead, there will be ways to see our favorite Disney characters with small, what I like to call, paradelettes:
- Character Cavalcades at Magic Kingdom Park
- Festive Flotillas at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
- Holiday Promenades at EPCOT
- Merry Motorcades at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
According to Disney:
“Character cavalcades at Magic Kingdom Park will take on a special holiday twist, with Christmas friends on festive floats in their holiday finest. Gingerbread Men? Check! Elves and Reindeer? Check, check! And, my personal favorite, the Toy Soldiers, will join the Main Street Philharmonic as they march through Magic Kingdom Park, bringing musical holiday cheer for all to hear.”
While it doesn’t look like there will be the gorgeous nightly light-up, Cinderella Castle will offer a rotating series of designs including a whimsical Christmas sweater and a regal overlay of red, green and gold ornamentation.
To avoid crowding, there will be no Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. There’s no doubt we’ll miss it, but I’d rather stay safe than sorry.
Christmas Dining at Disney World for 2020
Dining Options are few, but they do look fun:
Minnie Mouse will be at Hollywood & Vine at Disney’s Hollywood Studios starting Nov. 6. Santa Goofy will be there along with Minnie.
Disney Springs – Jock Lindsey will, once again, be turning his hangar bar into Jock Lindsey’s Holiday Bar complete with delightful holiday décor and a delicious limited-time menu filled with festive favorites.
Christmas at Epcot 2020
Beginning November 27, 2020, there will be a condensed version of EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays. The Holiday Kitchens will be coming back including an American traditional Christmas dinner and cheese fondue at the Bavaria Holiday Kitchen.
Additionally, JOYFUL! will be performing inside World ShowPlace and Voices of Liberty at America Gardens Theater Stage. What we won’t see this year is the Candlelight Processional at EPCOT.
Christmas at At Disney Springs for 2020
The super-ornate Christmas tress will be making a return – yay!
There’s no word of snow falling on Main Street U.S.A. this year, but there will be at Disney Springs:
“In the evening, guests visiting areas within Town Center, West Side and The Landing will encounter a magical snowfall, adding an extra touch of wonder to their holiday shopping.”
Disney World Christmas 2020: Resorts
Disney Resorts will have decked out Christmas trees in the resort lobbies, but the gingerbread displays will not be returning this year. That means no larger-than-life display at Grand Floridian Resort.
There will also be Christmas decorations throughout the resort, so keep an eye out for those.
