Walt Disney World has recently given us all hope in that the Fastpass+ system of selecting ride and attractions ahead of time will be even better soon. April 10, 2016, is the big roll out day for the new updates and additions and there new life being brought to the attraction selection app. Ready for some good news? Put your mickey ears on and get ready for the new, improved My Disney Experience!
No Kiosk Needed
Instead of making your three initial Fastpass+ selections and then having to head to a theme park kiosk (think long lines), once your FP+ selections are used up you can use the MDE app to score additional selections one at a time. Yay for not having to stand in line any more than we already do!
Book 1-3 FastPass+ Selections
Another nice change will be the availability to book 1-3 FP+ selections instead of having to commit to three at once. Keeping in line with the ability to book on the MDE app, once your selection (s) is used up, log in to your account and make another selection straight away.
Choose Attraction and Time Together
The current FP+ system allows you to pick three experiences and then keep your fingers crossed that they’re all at the times you want. With the update, the app will allow you to choose both attraction and time. Way to better customize our vacation, Disney.
Remove Individual Guests from a FastPass+ Experience
I’m loving this one. Instead of canceling an entire FP+ selection for all guests, you’ll now be able to pick and choose who stays on the reservation and who doesn’t. This is perfect for families that want to split up, families with younger children that have changed their minds about a ride as well.
Park Hopping Abilities
Perfect for families with Park Hopper passes or Annual Passholders, once you’ve used all three FP+ selections at one park, you’ll be able to choose additional selections (one at a time) in another park. Think about it: you’re in Magic Kingdom all day and, compliments of that steamy, Central Florida heat, you want to head on over to Animal Kingdom to get soaked on Kali River Rapids. You can make a FP+ reservation while you’re on WDW transportation!
