Gervasi Vineyard is one of my favorite places to stay and visit in eastern Ohio. And from dining to lodging to simply walking the grounds, it’s a place I’m happy to return to over and over. But what’s new for this year? Here’s what you can look forward to and important things to know about Gervasi Vineyard in 2020.
If I had to start naming luxurious places to stay in Canton, Ohio, Gervasi Vineyard (GV) would truly be at the top of the list. The 55-acre winery resort offers a laid back, but still very posh (it’s a AAA 4-Diamond property), atmosphere and the experience is something I’d be happy to do over and over. I mean, there’s no way I’d not want to sit on a patio at The Villas and enjoy breakfast while watching the swans in the lake.
And since I haven’t been in a long while, I reached out to the folks at GV to ask about what’s new for this year – especially when it comes to keeping its guests safe. The answers were exactly what I wanted to hear. Here’s the scoop on what to look forward to at Gervasi Vineyard this year.
Want the scoop on my favorite off the beaten path spots in The Buckeye State? Here’s a fun list of 14 Ohio hidden gems.
1. Gervasi Vineyard Outdoor Dining
So, let me get straight to it. Gervasi Vineyard wants its guests to have a safe, immersive experience. So, to go with their mantra, it’s offering dining al fresco at Crush House. The restaurant will have a front patio and a heated upper level for chilly nights. Additionally, permanent curbside carryout is now available.
And here’s the scoop on the Piazza. Previously, you would have to pick up your food when it was ready. Now, your server will bring it to you. While not opened yet, we’re looking at about two weeks before it does.
At its sister property, Twisted Olive, its outdoor dining will be covered so you won’t have to worry about rainy weather ruining your plans.
As for additional fun, several Gervasi Vineyard events have been planned for 2020. Please note: these events are on hold and waiting for Ohio’s Governor to allow public events. But, you can still add them to your calendar and keep checking for the official information!
2. Gervasi Vineyard Lodging for 2020
GV has two lodging options: The Villas and The Casa which opened last May. Each guest room will receive a deep cleaning between guests, which is so good to hear. Also, high touch areas will receive special attention. Employees are wearing masks both behind the scenes and with guests and gloves are used when pertinent.
In addition, consistent hand washing and temperature checks are being followed.
While those are all good, I had to ask about bedding. I mean, that’s the place where my face and body would be for the longest period of time, right? And here’s GV’s protocol:
- All bedding will be washed in hot, soapy water to sanitize.
- All pillows have both a protective cover and case. Both will be changed after every guest stay.
- Stay through cleaning has been stopped, unless requested by a guest. This way, there are no employees in your room once you check in unless you need them to be.

Okay, but say you’re staying overnight and don’t want to mingle with other guests. You can absolutely order takeout for one of its restaurants and eat in your room or on the patio. Also, instead of drinks and snacks in the common rooms, each suite now has its own Keurig machine and beverages.
And that’s a wrap on things to know at Gervasi Vineyard for this year. As more information becomes available, I’ll add it.
