If you’re already making travel plans for 2023, and want to visit a place that’s ideal for couples and families, you’ll definitely want to check out Kingsmill Resort Williamsburg. With plenty of freebies, an excellent location, and lovely accommodations, here’s the scoop on the property and why it needs to make your shortlist for 2023.
Why Kingsmill Resort Williamsburg Needs to Be on Your Travel Radar for 2023
Is Kingsmill Resort Williamsburg a Resort or Timeshare?
Kingsmill Resort is both, actually. If you like the idea of a timeshare and find it suits your travel budget and style, you’ll be happy to know that the property can accommodate you.
If you’re looking for a few days to getaway, Kingsmill is also a resort that’s rented by the night or weekly.
Kingsmill Resort Williamsburg – The Basics
While there’s nothing basic about the property, Kingsmill Resort Williamsburg is the only AAA Four Diamond Condominium Golf Resort in the state of Virginia. Situated on the James River, just looking out of the windows or off the patio is looking at American history.
The property has three golf courses along with a golf academy with Chris George as the official instructor. If you’re not certain who Mr. George is, he’s highly accomplished in the golfing field and is considered one of the top instructors in the Mid-Atlantic region.
At this time, Kingsmill is a cashless property, so you’ll either need to use your credit or bank card, charge to your room, or use your member account.
We really did enjoy our one bedroom condo located on the upper floor facing the water. It offered a full kitchen, so we went straight to Trader Joe’s after checking in (only a couple of miles away) and stocked up on food to enjoy during our stay. Additionally, the large living area had a balcony large enough for a couple of chairs so, each night we got to watch the sun set on the river. Just lovely.
I do need to mention this: if you’re a heavy packer like we are, keep in mind that we didn’t have an elevator for our heavy suitcases and had to lug them up several flights of stairs to our rooms. If you have a problem with stairs, let guest services know when you book so they can accommodate.
Where Is Kingsmill Resort Located?

Kingsmill Resort Williamsburg – Restaurants
There are four restaurants on Kingsmill Resort property:
Elements 1010 – With its casual vibe and atmosphere, it’s a great spot for breakfast in the main building. I actually test drove the famous breakfast buffet and there was plenty of options for this picky eater.
The Mill – Think light bites and coffee. Near the tennis courts, there are also freshly-made sandwiches and snacks.
Eagles – With its golf theme, Eagles is a good spot in the Clubhouse to grab a sandwich for lunch or a drink after a round of golf.
James Landing Grille – If you’re looking for a finer dining option on property, this is the place. During our visit, we actually ate on the outdoor patio area and loved the view of the James River. And if you love seafood, this is the spot for you as it serves regional, sustainable dishes.
Kingsmill Resort Williamsburg – Free Activities
When my daughter and I visited, we found plenty of freebies that made the stay even more affordable and budget-friendly:
Free parking
Free Wifi
Free use of the indoor and outdoor pools
Free access to the River Pool, an outdoor lazy river
Use of Fitness Center
