Last year, Gervasi Vineyard added a new boutique hotel to its gorgeous list of accommodations. And, last week, Mr. Locke and I finally had the pleasure of staying with the full intent of giving our honest opinion about our stay. Did we enjoy ourselves? Did we feel safe and comfortable? Here’s The Casa at Gervasi Vineyard full review.
Disclosure: We were graciously hosted by the folks at Gervasi Vineyard to give our honest take on our stay. All opinions are my own!
Gervasi Vineyard Review: A Property Overview
Gervasi Vineyard (GV) sits just outside of Downtown Canton, Ohio, and is only a few minute’s drive. But the difference between the two is very easy to tell. It’s surrounded by pretty communities and homes and the welcoming arches are easy to spot.
GV has two styles of lodging: The Villas and The Casa. We’ve stayed at GV a couple of years ago, so link our review of The Villas here.
Whether you’re staying on property or not, you’re free to drive around the property and enjoy its amenities including restaurants (more on them below), shopping in The Marketplace, or simply strolling around.
There are two pretty ponds/lakes on property as well: one at The Villas and one at The Casa. – perfect for sitting or walking.
In addition, there are generally plenty of fun events throughout the year, but most have been put on hold this year due to social distancing and safety measures. Here’s the link to the Gervasi Vineyard events calendar which is kept updated.
The Casa at Gervasi Vineyard

During our stay, we had room 218 and it was a great spot, in my opinion. If facing the main entrance, it was the farthest room on the left wing.
Having written that, it was not a long walk from the main entrance, but there are side entrances as well, making trips to and from the car for luggage super easy.
The Casa is a single story, so each room offers an outdoor patio with chairs and a small table. Also, the view of the pond and fountain, no matter what time of day, is beautiful. An outdoor common area has patio-style chairs and a timed, gas-lit fire pit area. Even though it was late June, we hung out by the fire and had a beautiful evening.
Let’s talk about or room for a minute. We had a super comfy king bed that faced a sitting area with a couple of chairs. A gas fireplace, large flat screen television, and a desk completes the room. Near the main room door (there are two – the other is for the patio area), there’s a large closet with robes and slippers and a safe. Next to that, there’s a counter and mini fridge, Keurig, and glasses/dishes.
My favorite part of our room at The Casa was probably the bathroom. Fully tiled with a Tuscan feel, it offered a heated towel warmer, sunken sink, and massive shower. A cool touch was the in-bathroom television near the sink, too.
For 2020, Gervasi Vineyard has made a massive effort to go above and beyond with regard to cleaning and sanitizing. Here’s the link to our article featuring how Gervasi Vineyard is keeping us and their employees safe.
Gervasi Vineyard Breakfast
One of my favorite touches at GV is the delivery of a freshly-made breakfast delivered straight to our room. When we check in, we made our choice of entree (there were four or five). In the morning, we called the front desk to have it delivered. FYI: We called early, but if you choose not to it will be brought around 9am.
Breakfast comes in a sweet, wooden box. In addition to the entrees, there was fresh fruit and crispy croissants with chocolate cream cheese. As for fresh coffee, that’s what the Keurig is for. We actually ran out of coffee pods, so we called and had additional ones brought to the room.
Gervasi Vineyard Dining
At GV, there are several Gervasi Restaurants to choose from:
- The Crush House
- The Bistro
- The Piazza
- The Still House
For this visit, we didn’t dine at an on-property restaurant but instead went to its sister property, The Twisted Olive. It has both indoor and outdoor dining options (we chose outdoor because the weather was beautiful) and sat on the patio.
Its menu offers some good choices including Lobster Ravioli and Chicken Parm and prices start around $12 and go up. The dessert menu, as well as the drink menu, offers some fun selections, too. If I had to choose, pick the ice cream (it’s from Pav’s Creamery) or the gluten free Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake Jar.
