Water Bottle with Filter
At home, I use a Brita water filter everyday. At Walt Disney World, even though cups of water and ice are free, there’s a taste to them that’s different from home, so I’m not a huge fan.
Here’s a portable water bottle with a built-in filter on Amazon that’s both portable and budget-friendly
Disney Rain Poncho
Yes, you can definitely purchase Walt Disney World rain ponchos in a pinch, but they’ll cost you probably more than you want to spend. These Disney rain ponchos come in a 2-pack and are both durable and less than what you’d spend in the parks.
UV Umbrella
no matter what time of year it is in the Orlando area, it’s going to be sunny and it doesn’t need to be hot to get a sunburn. Additionally, visit during the hot, humid summers and there’s bound to be an afternoon shower.
This 95% UV blocking sun/rain umbrella is what I carry in my Disney park bag. It’s compact enough to fit into a side packet, is light weight, and I use it while standing in outdoor queues. It’s also ideal for when you’re walking from attraction to attraction in full sun.
UV Protected Swimwear
I find it’s much easier to throw on a uv protected swim shirt in the Disney pools than to slather myself with sunblock. Of course, you’ll still need to protect your face, neck and legs, but it’s far less chemicals going on my body. Here are some fun picks for affordable uv blocking suits:
UV Blocking Sunhat
Another easy way to keep the scorching sun off your head is with a good sunhat.
Flexible Stroller Fan
Whether you rent one or take your own, a stroller is a must for young kiddos in the parks. Even with the popped up sun shade, it can still get pretty hot. To help combat the heat, here’s a battery powered, flexible tripod fan that wraps around stroller handles. It offers a 360 degree rotation so you can aim the air flow right where you want it.
Neck Cooling Towels
The first time I took my family to. Walt Disney World, we were definitely unprepared for the amount of heat and humidity we’d encounter. These days, we have cooling towels that wrap around our necks to keep us cooler.
Using a hyper-evaporative, microfiber material, you can get them wet and wring out the excess water as many times a day as you’d like.
Portable Snacks
I know you’ll want to try snacks that can only be found at Disney World, but in a pinch it’s nice to have a few portable snacks in your park bag. Here are two of my favorites:
We all know how much the kiddos (and adults) love Goldfish. They come in small bags and are not messy, too.
For adults and bigger kids, I wholeheartedly suggest the RXBar. Made from nothing bad, they’re portable and delicious. If I had to give them a consistency, I say they ‘re like Tootsie Rolls.
FYI: Many of the RXBARs have nuts in them, so please check ingredients if you have family members with allergies.
Disney Face Masks
When face masks at Walt Disney World became mandatory, the company started selling their own brand at a pretty good price. These days, prices have gone up tp around $10 a mask. Yikes!
Here are affordable, and super cute, face masks that are approved for park use and have funDisney prints:
Gallon Freezer Bags
I’ve mentioned before how much I use gallon plastic bags while in the parks. They’re good for keeping electronics clean and dry and for keeping things separated. Nowadays, I use them for my face masks – one for clean ones and the other for dirty.
Sunscreen
Last, but definitely not least, sunscreen. CeraVe is, by far, my favorite for both face and body. I’m super picky when it comes to sunscreen, so I don’t like the oily or sticky kinds. I also don’t like feeling a residue that’s itchy. This one from CeraVe has none of those qualities. Plus, my dermatologist recommended it.
