Are you the kind of person who would love to go on a few more camping trips, but just can’t stomach the idea of sleeping outside, where there are loads of bugs (and wet, windy weather), and you’re probably going to get a bad back from the hard ground?
We hear you! It’s why so many people turn away from camping as even a possibility when it comes to planning a trip!
But if you really would like to try a campsite again, there are so many ways you can make camping more comfortable for you and your group. Indeed, here are just a few little things you can try to prevent all of the issues we listed out above!

Focus on Your Sleeping Arrangements

If sleeping in a tent is the main thing that’s putting you off, why not just bring the bedding you use at home? There’s nothing that says you have to sleep on travel pillows or in a sleeping bag, or on an air mattress that slowly deflates overnight!
You can also set up a camping cot, if you want to be off the ground, or even use thicker, more stable travel mattresses, like you would get in a caravan. Those are made of cushioned materials, so they won’t even have the chance to deflate!
Stay at an RV Park

This is where you can get all kinds of relief from the usual camping woes, but in particular, it’s a good way to find yourself a safe base when it’s pouring it down or blowing a gale.
After all, an RV park provides somewhere you can set your RV down as a static caravan, plug it into the site’s generators, and there’s plenty of buildings, foliage, and other vehicles around to help provide a bit more shelter.
Of course, if you do want to stay at an RV park, make sure you find out if it’s a good location AND whether or not it’s got some good facilities beforehand. There’s quite a wild range of things on offer these days, so go for the ground that packs the most punch.
Keep the Bugs Away

It’s easier to do than you might think! Get a freestanding bug net you can set up over your mattress, for one. Then, make sure you have bug spray that you can apply to any exposed skin, to prevent even the most intrepid of critters from finding a site to chomp down.
And in the rare event that this essential prep still leads to a bite or two, make sure you’ve got some itch relief cream (and some anti histamines) packed in your bag as well. Always better safe than sorry! And at the very least, you won’t have to make a mad dash out to the nearest pharmacy!
Long story short, camping can be made as comfortable as you really want it to be! You just need to prep your tent set-up in just the right way!
