Sure, there’s plenty of thrill rides at Walt Disney World, but when you’re traveling with family or on a multigen vacation, there’s rides that not everyone can (or wants to) ride. So, which Walt Disney World rides CAN you hit with everyone in your vacation party? Here’s our favorite Magic Kingdom rides for everyone.
Not only is Magic Kingdom my top pick for the best park for multigenerational vacations, Magic Kingdom offers the most rides for all ages. It’s also the original park at Walt Disney World AND the one with the most classic rides and attractions. Here’s the rides that are fun for all ages in order of park area beginning with Adventureland and moving clockwise.
Magic Kingdom Rides for Everyone: Adventureland
Pirates of the Caribbean – One of the original park rides, this indoor, slow-moving boat ride is fun for everyone. There’s a small drop at the beginning but it’s more fun than exhilarating. With the recent boat changes, don’t ask for a front row seat if you’d like to stay dry. Your best option is somewhere in the middle rows. Height Requirement for Pirates of the Caribbean: Any Height
The Magic Carpets of Aladdin– This one resembles the Dumbo ride in Fantasyland as it offers an aerial view of the park area. There’s both a front and back row to each carpet and controls to not only raise and lower the carpet, but tip it a tiny bit as well. Maximum of four passengers per carpet. Height Requirement for The Magic Carpets of Aladdin: Any Height
Jungle Cruise – Another boat ride, Jungle Cruise takes you through the jungle of several continents. The “punny” jokes are classic Disney at this point. The ride is mainly outdoors with a canopy to protect from the sun, but on hot days it does get pretty sweltering. Height Requirement for Jungle Cruise: Any Height
Just in case you need to get your bearings, here’s the link to the full Magic Kingdom map.
Magic Kingdom Rides for Everyone: Frontierland
Country Bear Jamboree – This one’s technically a classic show, but I’m adding it here because it’s worth watching, especially with small kids. Again, WDW loves punny jokes so you’ll hear plenty of them. You’ll also see the Country Bears in their audio animatronic form as only Disney could do. We love catching a show on hot, humid days if only to cool off for a while. Height Requirement for Country Bear Jamboree: Any Height
Magic Kingdom Rides for Everyone: Liberty Square
Liberty Belle Riverboat – A slow moving boat ride through a portion of Liberty Square as Mark Twain would have seen it. Actually, Samuel Clemens is the narrator during the ride! Look for scenes featuring American Indians and animatronic animals – they’re our fave parts. Height Requirement for Liberty Belle: Any Height
Haunted Mansion – I’m adding Haunted Mansion because it’s a slow moving ride in a Doom Buggy through a dark mansion. Some kids love it’others would be afraid. Use your best judgement when it comes to your family. As for mine, it’s our favorite ride in the park .Height Requirement for Haunted Mansion: Any Height
Magic Kingdom Rides for Everyone: Fantasyland
it’s a small world – A classic WDW slow-moving boat ride suitable for everyone. The only thing you’ll have to worry about is its theme song getting stuck in your head for hours. Height Requirement for it’s a small world: Any Height
Peter Pan’s Flight – You’ll board a flying boat and soar above jolly old England with Peter Pan. There’s plenty of black lights and neon colors to keep little ones occupied and adults will love the nod to the old school Disney classic film. Word to the wise, Peter Pan is super popular so try to make it one of your FastPass priorties. Height Requirement for Peter Pan’s Flight: Any Height
Prince Charming Regal Carrousel – In the heart of Fantasyland sits the most regal of carousels, and one fit for Cinderella herself. Yes, it spins, but very slowly, and the music is from Disney movies and shows. There’s a couple of seats as well if you have an infant that can’t sit on a horse. Height Requirement for Prince Charming Regal Carrousel: Any Height
Dumbo the Flying Elephant – Another great classic Disney ride. There’s two sets of rotating elephants to board and soar in the air with. Bonus: There’s an indoor play area for kids to enjoy instead of a standby queue. You’ll receive a pager that will buzz when it’s your turn to line up. Height Requirement for Dumbo: Any Height
Mad Tea Party – Affectionately called the “Tea Cups” this ride is another good classic if you can handle the spinning aspect. Giant tea cups spin on a track and you’re able to control the spinning with the large wheel in the center. If you’re prone to motion sickness, skip it. Height Requirement for Mad Tea Party: Any Height
Magic Kingdom Rides for Everyone: New Fantasyland
Fantasyland was basically doubled in size with its expansion a few years ago. With the expansion came new, family-friendly rides and attractions so I’m adding them in a separate section.
Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid – You’ll basically relive the tale of the Little Mermaid while enjoying the ride in a giant clam shell. The scenes are top notch and the songs are the best from the Disney movie. Height Requirement for Under the Sea: Any Height
Magic Kingdom Rides for Everyone: Tomorrowland
People Mover – That track that’s high above your head in Tomorrowland? That’s the Tomorrowland Transit Authority People Mover. It’s worthy of a ride if only to see the land from above. There’s much more to see than that, though, including the inside of Space Mountain. We love this ride as it’s just over 10 minutes long and a great respite from our tires feet and legs. Height Requirement for People Mover: Any Height
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin – If your gang likes to shoot targets while moving and spinning, Buzz is right up your street. The cool part is you don’t have to shoot a single target to enjoy the neon-colored scenery. The center of the moving cart has a handle to spin in you right or left and up to two shooters per cart are permitted. Height Requirement for Buzz Lightyear: Any Height
Carousel of Progress – Technically a ride because it moves every few minutes, Carousel of Progress is another of Walt’s classics. The ride is basically a trip through time with one family (and its dog!) and showcases how progress has made a difference in its quality of life. Tip: it might be considered boring for little ones, but that makes for a cool and quiet nap while adults are watching.
